By vs. On - Commonly Confused Words in English
There are a lot of people ask me when do you use by & when do you use on.
By - is used state who or what is doing the action; or how an action is done
- I go to school by car.
- We are going to visit my sister by bus.
- I want to travel though Europe by bike.
- The girls are going to the store by foot.
On - is used when something is touching something; usually when something or someone is touching the top of something or someone
- My mother puts me on the bus to go to school.
- I don't like to sit on an airplane for a long time.
- How many people are on the bus?
